Introduced as ‘one young singer who’s about to hit the big time’ during her TV appearance on the BBC Breakfast Show, Joni Fuller is an exciting young artist of the moment... and for the future; a seventeen year old singer-songwriter, pianist, violinist and guitarist who is fast catching the eyes and ears of music audiences.
Joni's 6-track EP, 'Run for Cover' has been released in June 2009.
Joni first stepped onto the world music scene at the Casino Barriere, Montreux Jazz Festival in 2004 when she was just 12. Following the performance, Joni became the first UK child to be accepted into the Geneva-based Little Dreams Foundation.
Joni began playing the violin aged five and within three years was accepted into the Junior School at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester – where she remains today, studying violin and piano.
Joni began writing her own songs when she was 8 and has a repertoire that is way beyond her years in terms of quantity, quality and maturity. She has performed her songs in the UK, across Europe and beyond, performing live at venues ranging from intimate theatres in Paris and Belgium to 60,000 seater stadiums in Germany (during Phil Collins' 2005 World Tour). Television and radio appearances in the UK, France and Switzerland have followed.
Joni’s first CD, ‘Voices’, was independently released in 2006 when she was 14 and comprises 12 of her songs.
Live performances in 2007 included a breathtaking set in Coventry Cathedral during the World Giftedness Conference. Further live shows in Lyon, Lausanne, Blenheim Palace, Manchester and London followed before a live TV performance during Telethon 2007. In 2008, Joni teamed up with a guitarist to develop her live acoustic set, allowing her to incorporate a violin style that encompasses her rock, classical and folk influences. Joni received a standing-ovation at the first Montrose Music Festival in May 2008 and spent the rest of the summer performing live at venues across the UK.
In July 2008, Joni was chosen by the Performing Rights Society to front a media campaign to raise awareness of the importance of performance royalties in supporting the songwriters of tomorrow.
Live TV and radio appearances (Channel M, BBC Breakfast Show, BBC Radio Manchester) have followed, alongside an ever increasing schedule of concert and festival bookings.
In October 2008, Joni's song 'America' won the Make it Break it Songwriting Contest. A bootcamp weekend working with industry professionals at LIPA and a stunning performance in the Paul McCartney Auditorium followed.
In Spring 2009, Joni teamed up with young producer Harry Andrew Brown and the fantastic young bassist Harrison Wood to record her 6-track 'Run for Cover' CD which was launched at the Montrose Music Festival on 30th May 2009.
